The main purpose of this unique structure was to let the women of the royal families observe the various processions and festive ceremonies through the jharokhas or screened windows. The air-circulation through the windows keeps the interiors of the palace cool, and sunlight filtering through the jharokhas is an unforgettable sight. 

City Palace – 
This stunningly beautiful palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. The palace is spread over a vast area which includes splendid gardens, courtyards and other buildings. A museum within the palace exhibits a fine collection of arms, coins, jewelry, statues and miniature paintings. 

Jantar Mantar – 
This is one of the five observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, an avid astronomer. The stone structures offer a glimpse of the scientific developments of the late medieval period in India. The impressive structures continue to impress tourists even today and are considered among the topmost tourist attractions in Jaipur.
